SAMMA is a line of jewelry defined by a stripped down vocabulary of modular form. Elemental lines and simplified shapes in brass, bronze, copper, gold, and silver — combine. Patterns based on stacking, bundling, interlocking, and weaving primary shapes make tactile, sculptural pieces. Repetition is broken by slight variations, either in color or in structure, lending a warmth and individual touch. Seriality and standardized construction are the basis of a lexicon of shapes and materials that reference both modernism and vernacular forms of adornment.

Hanna Sandin is a sculptor based in New York City. She began SAMMA in 2009, with a single piece- a simple cotton rope with a cluster of machined brass triangles.
